Cast-Not-Set

Cast-not-set, also know as cast-in-place, is a centuries-old technique where the stones are directly embedded into the mould and then cast in metal. The molten metal hugs and pinches around the stones as it cools down, shrinking to capture the stone in place.

The unpredictability of this process steps away from perfection in favour of revelling in the organic and natural look, creating a one-of-a-kind piece each time. 

Stones can change color due to the high temperatures of molten metal or being completed submerged into the piece. The texture will look different, as we combine both cast-not-set and sand casting techniques. The sand filling the moulds will give natural cracks and imperfections to the final aesthetic - more value and character to your unique jewel.
